Reading and Stuff

So I'm reading this book by Tamara Thorne called The Sorority: Eve

Wow I had such high hopes for this book. I was crushed. When the story i thought was going to take off it in its story arc it quickly rushed through and didn't take advantage of the possibilities. So disappointed. I don't know if it was the writer was under a deadline or if the editor cut the book but wow so much potential was wasted.

I'm not a big fan of Stephen Kings writings because of the way is explains everything in excruciating detail, but this book could have used a little bit of his help in that area.

Over all I think the story could have a little more story to it. I guess it is a shame because this story and the charterers could have really been better developed. I haven't read the other 2 books in the trilogy. But after reading this one I don't think I will bother in hopes the story get's better.

I am being generous giving it 2 stars, because I think there was potential.

Friday Fun Day

Friday, March 2, 2012
I am so excited it is Friday today.  I got my furnace fixed last night.  Feel much better because we have a little more left of winter to go.  The Book Depot Box sale is 12 days and counting.  Reading a great book by Gayle Callen - Never Marry a Stranger.

This book is very intriguing to a point where I don't want to put it down.  I'm a part right now where Emily had confided most of her secrets to Matthew.  We shall see where this little convenient marriage will take us.  But what I don't understand yet is why she hasn't disclosed all of her secrets to Matthew.  Why not just get it over and done with.  Silly woman.  Ahh we shall see.

2 Weeks ago I was in the Fit for Life challenge for Heart and stroke.  It was at the Magna Center in Newmarket.  It was great to see all my ladies in good form!

We raise a great deal of money $2,500 I believe.  Here we are in our Empipe Ladies Shirts.
And From the Back

And that will do it for Today!

The ROC

Monday, February 27, 2012

We did get to go to the ROC this weekend. We all went fun times.  Colton love his Cars sled.

Me and Mikayla went down and she scratched her face on the snow poor thing was bleeding.  We fell off the sled together, she didn't remember hitting her eye.  Weird stuff.  But she took it good.

I was just at Brittney's baby shower for Aidan.  It went great.  Angie always puts on a great time.  Brittney's looking great!  She has lost almost all her weight.

Well that does it for today.

Colton Hospital

Friday, February 17, 2012
Oh dear what a terrible last couple weeks.  Colton was sick Saturday, February 11th once I got home form the Fit for life challenge at Manga Center for Heart and Stroke.  So I gave him Advil for fever.  Sunday morning he was not any better so I took him to York Central Walk in.  They gave me a steroid for clearing up his chest cause he was wheezy.  Still had fever so dosed him again.  then Monday he went to Karen's for daycare, didn't get any better then at night he kept waking up coughing and unrest ed so Tuesday February 14th, I took him to the hospital.  Well after being there for 9:30am, 2 hours later i got results back he had Pneumonia cause from RSV ( Respiratory syncytial virus)

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a very common virus that leads to mild, cold-like symptoms in adults and older healthy children. It can be more serious in young babies, especially to those in certain high-risk groups.
Causes, incidence, and risk factors
RSV is the most common germ that causes lung and airway infections in infants and young children. Most infants have had this infection by age 2. Outbreaks of RSV infections most often begin in the fall and run into the spring.

The infection can occur in people of all ages. The virus spreads through tiny droplets that go into the air when a sick person blows their nose, coughs, or sneezes.

He was admitted with level 5 oxygen and IV with antibiotics and He had to have mask every 4 hours, his oxygen was brought down slowly up until Thursday.   Which his had was getting puffy from the IV.  So the nurse took off the oxygen and the IV and we got to bath him. I was so happy to get all that stuff off of him. This older lady at the hospital kept giving Colton a hand made duck that he pushed and a teddy bear and a truck.  Oh she was a wonderful women.  Have to do something for her soon.

Monday Morning

Monday, June 27, 2011
So I sit at my desk thinking of all the things I must accomplish by Thursday night.  Going on Vacation can't wait.  First to the cottage without the kiddies for a weekend of ma-ham.  Then off to Niagara for a wonderful week with Mommy dearest and the children for a wonderful adventure.  Can't wait!  But in the mean time, a pile of laundry awaits my tending, also have a pampered chief party to attend tonight, plus I have to make sure the kiddies are ready to leave on Thrusday.  O the joys of motherhood.  Going to be a busy week!  I'm ready, just won't be able to read too much this week.

So on to the book.

Well I go a kick out of this book. A little unbelievable if you ask me in terms of Garrick grabbing Eleanor and kissing her while she robbing him... then the time passing... But overall I can disregard that because come on it's a book.  I think the characters were well developed.  I got a good sense of who they were.  But again the back and forth of her not telling him about her feelings and him not telling her his.  Typical.  But overall I did like the book.  A quick read for sure.

I look forward to reading my next book which I am already going on,

The Rake's Inherited Courtesan

Looking forward to the weekend.
